A children's book of fiction for readers age 7-10. Follow Sherman as he makes a home for the winter in an old boot he finds in a firehouse. Meet Gus, a green grasshopper who doesn't know how he ended up this far north and wonders what Sherman is planning next to relieve his boredom. Humor, drama, and action when Sherman is put to the test -- not once, but twice -- in his quest to be a real firefighter.
“Sherman’s World - Finding Courage” is about a mouse named Sherman who makes a winter home in a firehouse, where he meets Gus, a funny grasshopper, and starts a hilarious training program to become a real firefighter. Picture a mouse doing cardio sprints, sit-ups and jumping jacks!
When spring arrives, Sherman must decide if he should rescue a smelly, wet cat that is stranded in a tree and later, an injured firefighter who needs help. What should Sherman do? What can he do? Will his training be enough to rescue a cat and a firefighter .... and himself? Humor, action and friendship move this story along in short chapters. For readers 7-10 ~ 120 pages

"Sherman's World - Finding Courage"
is a story about friendship, adventure, and accepting your young self as a wonderful "work in progress." I enjoyed writing this children's book since I could combine my own adventures as a volunteer firefighter and my love of a fun story to remind young readers that a good friend is a treasure to keep. I hope Sherman and Gus inspire kids to be kind to those who may appear different to them and know that often, they simply want to have and be a friend.
