Sherman's
World!
Curl up this winter with a fun book and follow Sherman in his own winter adventure!
Have a Happy Reading Day!
“Sherman’s World - Finding Courage” is about a mouse named Sherman who makes a winter home in a firehouse, where he meets Gus, a brash and funny grasshopper, and starts a crazy training
program to become a “real firefighter.” Gus doesn’t know what to think about Sherman’s plan, but worries that he won't be careful.
As spring arrives, Sherman’s commitment to his plan to
be a firefighter is tested - first, when a smelly, wet cat is stranded in a tree and again, when an injured firefighter desperately needs help.
What should Sherman do? Will his training be enough?

Message from the Author
I am a volunteer firefighter and during the winter, we sometimes find nuts and seeds stored in our boots. It’s funny and we have learned to put one hand in each boot to make sure it is empty before we put our foot inside. That's how the idea of Sherman's winter adventure began. His story also talks about fire behavior and staying fire safe, which I think is important for everyone to know. So, I hope you like Sherman's transformation from a funny little absent-minded, procrastinator to a hero doing "hero-things," with Gus the grasshopper, an unlikely friend who tries to keep him safe.
